Common faults and maintenance methods of drilling machines

The drilling machine may encounter a variety of faults during use. The following is a summary of some common faults and their maintenance methods:

1. Engine failure

Starting is difficult or cannot start
Fault cause:
The winter climate is cold, the oil viscosity increases and the starting speed decreases.
Battery capacity decreases.
The diesel quality is poor or contains water.
The injection pump plunger pair and the injector needle valve pair are seriously worn.
Maintenance method:
Ensure that there is enough starting speed, the cylinder is well sealed, the engine is well lubricated, and the battery has enough starting capacity.
Check the quality of diesel and avoid using diesel-containing water or poor quality.
Repair or replace the injection pump and injector.
Black smoke from the exhaust pipe
Fault cause:
The diesel quality is poor.
The air intake is not smooth and the air filter is blocked.
The injection timing is adjusted too early.
The injection pump supplies too much fuel.
Maintenance method:
Use diesel of qualified quality.
Clean the air filter regularly.
Adjust the injection timing.
Check and adjust the fuel supply of the injection pump.
Insufficient power
Cause of the fault:
The air intake is not smooth, and the oil in the supercharger is sucked into the cylinder.
There is too much oil in the oil pan.
The cylinder is seriously leaking oil.
Repair method:
Check the intake system to ensure that the supercharger is working properly.
Control the amount of oil in the oil pan and do not exceed the maximum limit.
Check the sealing of the cylinder and repair the oil leakage problem.

2. Hydraulic failure

The oil pump does not discharge oil
Cause of the fault:
The motor is in the wrong direction.
The stop valve is not open.
Repair method:
Change the direction of the motor.
Open the stop valve.
The pump does not discharge enough oil and the noise is loud
Cause of the fault:
The oil level in the oil tank is too low.
The viscosity of the oil is too high.
The air filter of the oil tank is blocked.
The oil suction pipe is leaking.
The internal damage or wear of the oil pump is serious.
Repair method:
Fill the hydraulic oil.
Replace with low-viscosity oil or preheat.
Disassemble and clean the air filter.
Find the leak and tighten it.
Repair or replace a new pump.
The motor does not rotate or rotates weakly
Cause of the fault:
The main pump does not oil or has no pressure.
The back pressure valve is blocked.
The main shaft is stuck.
The motor fails.
The motor adjustment handwheel is in the wrong position.
The motor is seriously worn and the internal leakage is too large.
Repair method:
Check the main pump and oil circuit to ensure normal oil supply.
Turn the handwheel counterclockwise to open the back pressure valve.
Check the bearing or oil sleeve to repair the jamming problem.
Check or replace a new motor.
Adjust the position of the motor adjustment handwheel.
Repair the motor and repair the internal leakage problem.

3. Mechanical failure

Track deviation
Cause of the fault:
The flow of the main pump on both sides of the track is inconsistent.
The overflow valve is damaged or stuck.
The large pump is damaged or leaking internally.
The motor balance valve is out of adjustment.
The multi-way valve leaks internally.
Repair method:
Check and adjust the flow of the main pump on both sides of the track.
Repair or replace the overflow valve.
Repair or replace the large pump.
Adjust the motor balance valve.
Repair the multi-way valve.
The center line of the fixture is off-center
Cause of the fault:
Improper adjustment of the power head clamp.
The fixture assembly is deformed.
Repair method:
Adjust the power head clamp, and the height can be adjusted by adding a pad.
Correct the fixture assembly.

4. Other faults

Poor circuit contact
Cause of the fault:
The fuse is loose or aging.
The line is aging or worn out.
Repair method:
Check the fuse to ensure that it is tightened and not aging.
Check the line and replace the aging or worn-out wires.
Oil pipe leakage
Cause of the fault:
Loose nuts.
O-rings or combination gaskets are damaged.
The pipe joints are not matched or not tightened.
Repair method:
Tighten the nuts.
Replace the damaged O-rings or combination gaskets.
Replace the matching pipe joints and tighten them.
